ENS receives Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label

ENS awarded by the Solar Impulse Foundation for Lungs of the City

ENS received the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label, as one the 1000 clean and profitable solutions worldwide to protect the environment.

Solar Impulse Foundation

The Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label is one of the first labels designed to shed light on existing solutions that are both clean and profitable and have a positive impact on quality of life. Bertrand Piccard is the developer and pilot of the Solar Impulse; the very first airplane capable of flying around the world without fuel. Following his success, Bertrand Piccard has launched the Solar Impulse Foundation; selecting solutions that can protect the environment in a profitable way and bringing them to decisions makers.

Sustainable Solution

Lungs of the City is a technological solution – developed by ENS – to substantially improve urban air quality aiming at fine and ultra-fine dust removal at pollution hotspot locations. Evaluated by a panel of experts, the Lungs of the City solution was recognized as being a sustainable solution contributing to two Sustainable Development Goals: industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG9), and sustainable cities and communities (SDG11).

Lungs of the City

Cities take various measures to improve air quality. In addition to this, ENS has developed ‘Lungs of the City’, in which existing infrastructure and facilities help to clean the air by actively removing air pollution that would otherwise flow with the wind throughout the city nearby shopping areas as well as residential neighborhoods. This project proves the capability of our technology and the need to improve the quality of life in the city.
