Cold milling of old road surfaces generates significant emissions, such as noise, dust, and harmful fine particulate matter. This is especially disruptive in residential areas and cities, where it causes inconvenience to residents and passersby. ENS Clean Air, in collaboration with BOMAG, has developed an innovative product — the ION DUST SHIELD — to effectively capture fine dust during the milling process. This technology reduces fine particulate emissions by more than 80% during milling. In doing so, we contribute to more sustainable roadwork and a healthier living environment for people and the planet.
Scientific research by the IGF Institute at Ruhr University Bochum has shown that the ION DUST SHIELD technology reduces fine dust emissions during cold milling by more than 80%. Compared to conventional cold milling machines without this technology, this represents a proven step toward cleaner air and a healthier working environment.
